As an educator you will work from home, be your own boss and provide a service that’s rewarding, for both you and the families that you meet along your journey.

As an educator you will be guided by the National Quality Framework which includes the following documents:

 

  • National Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education and Care and School Age Care (2010).
     

  • Education and Care Services National Law (WA) Act 2012- ‘The Act’.
     

  • Education and Care Services National Regulations, 2012 – ‘Regulations’.
     

  • Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and Framework for School Aged Care in Australia.

Connections Family Day Care will support you in your role and guide you in your daily experiences with children and families. As qualified trainers and assessors we will also provide individual and group training for our educators.

Requirements to become a Family Day Care Educator

​

As an educator your responsibilities will reflect the following:

​

  • Have a Certificate III in Children’s Services

  • Have an understanding of the regulations and frameworks

  • Build positive relationships with all families

  • Have good interpersonal skills

  • Respect diversity and difference

  • Have the ability to set up experiences and play spaces for children which encourages learning.

  • Document and analyze children’s learning

  • Ability to run a small business and meet legislative requirements (inc taxation)

  • Attend professional development sessions.

  • Have excellent organizational skills
